I'm not an expert teacher or lecturer of chemistry. I was only a student from SMA NEGERI 15 SURABAYA who had been one of the Bronze Medalist Participants of Olimpiade Sains Nasional X (2011) of Chemistry In Manado, North Sulawesi, 11 - 16 September 2011 and graduated in 2012. Now, I'm studying at Universitas Airlangga in Surabaya, Indonesia. I do love chemistry and I would like to help them who had difficulties in studying chemistry. That's why, please understand me if you found some misconcepts in my entries. Suggestions are always necessary in order to develop this blog. And I'm sorry because my English isn't so well.

Aniline

Aniline, a weak base compound with the formula of C6H5NH2 reacts with water with the equation as follows:



A sample of solution contains 0.180 M of aqueous aniline and 8.80 x 10-6 M of OH-.

1. State the equilibrium constant of this reaction.
2. Calculate the base ionization constant (Kb) of Aniline.
3. Calculate the ionization percentage of Aniline in that solution
4. Calculate the equilibrium constant for the neutralization reaction as follows:

C6H5NH2(aq) + H3O+(aq) C6H5NH3+(aq) + H2O(l)

5. Calculate the value of which is needed to produce a solution with the pH of 7.75
6. Calculate the volume of 0.050 M HCl which is added to 250.0 mL of 0.180 M C6H5NH2(aq) to get that ratio (from number 5).
